This is the final painting from my last visit to Granada at the end of November. This street, Cuesta Chapiz, runs down to the Rio Darro from the top of the old city. It divides the historic quarters, the Albaicin on the right from Sacromonte on the left and looks across to the Alhambra on the opposite hill. It is a wonderful subject to paint in watercolour, particularly with the beautiful soft light and colours of late autumn. The attractive old buildings are also a pleasure to draw.
The original of this painting has been sold to a collector in South Korea.

Born in Chelmsford, England. I grew up in Falmouth but lived and worked as an artist in Truro from 1970 until I moved to Spain. I have been painting since I was 2 years old but I also have a love of nature, my animals, classical music and dance. In 2002 I moved to Spain and now live in a cortijo near Alhabia, Almeria, Southern Spain. The scenery around my home provides endless, beautiful subjects for landscape and seascape painting and I get inspiration from the dramatic landscapes of Andalucia and the old cities, towns and villages which I usually paint in watercolour.
