A cave dwelling and patio in Alhabia, my nearest village in Almeria, Andalucia, Spain. A simple composition but an interesting subject for capturing light and shade in the dazzling sunshine of Andalucia. This painting is the subject of a tutorial I was asked to write for a new magazine, The Beginner's Guide to Watercolours, which is due to be published on the 15th April 2021.
I sell my original paintings to collectors all over the world and am happy to quote for the original watercolour including delivery direct to your home.
Born in Chelmsford, England. I grew up in Falmouth but lived and worked as an artist in Truro from 1970 until I moved to Spain. I have been painting since I was 2 years old but I also have a love of nature, my animals, classical music and dance. In 2002 I moved to Spain and now live in a cortijo near Alhabia, Almeria, Southern Spain. The scenery around my home provides endless, beautiful subjects for landscape and seascape painting and I get inspiration from the dramatic landscapes of Andalucia and the old cities, towns and villages which I usually paint in watercolour.
