A typical street in one of my favourite villages in La Alpujarra Almeriense, Almócita, Almeria, Spain. The composition and the beautiful light and colours make this a perfect subject for a watercolour.

Born in Chelmsford, England. I grew up in Falmouth but lived and worked as an artist in Truro from 1970 until I moved to Spain. I have been painting since I was 2 years old but I also have a love of nature, my animals, classical music and dance. In 2002 I moved to Spain and now live in a cortijo near Alhabia, Almeria, Southern Spain. The scenery around my home provides endless, beautiful subjects for landscape and seascape painting and I get inspiration from the dramatic landscapes of Andalucia and the old cities, towns and villages which I usually paint in watercolour. I am also interested in portraiture, dance and figure studies and my preferred medium for these is soft pastel. I have shipped my paintings all over the world and will...
