After the Christian reconquest, many lovely churches were built in Granada. Some, like San Bartolome in the upper part of the Albaicin, stand on the site of old mosques. This scene looking across to the church along one of the narrow cobbled streets of Sacromonte makes a perfect composition.

Born in Chelmsford, England. I grew up in Falmouth but lived and worked as an artist in Truro from 1970 until I moved to Spain. I have been painting since I was 2 years old but I also have a love of nature, my animals, classical music and dance. In 2002 I moved to Spain and now live in a cortijo near Alhabia, Almeria, Southern Spain. The scenery around my home provides endless, beautiful subjects for landscape and seascape painting and I get inspiration from the dramatic landscapes of Andalucia and the old cities, towns and villages which I usually paint in watercolour.
