My previous painting of Granada, Spain was of the street and church, San Gregorio. Leading up from the Gran Via to join this street at the little square beneath the church is this colourful street, Calle Caldereria. It is lined with beautiful buildings, typical of old Granada, shops selling all kinds of arabic produce, lanterns, rugs, clothing, jewelry, arabic music, belly dancing gear and Morrocan tea rooms. This narrow street is a favourite tourist route up through the Albaicin. it is a very interesting subject to paint but difficult and challenging. I hope you like my interpretation.

Born in Chelmsford, England. I grew up in Falmouth but lived and worked as an artist in Truro from 1970 until I moved to Spain. I have been painting since I was 2 years old but I also have a love of nature, my animals, classical music and dance. In 2002 I moved to Spain and now live in a cortijo near Alhabia, Almeria, Southern Spain. The scenery around my home provides endless, beautiful subjects for landscape and seascape painting and I get inspiration from the dramatic landscapes of Andalucia and the old cities, towns and villages which I usually paint in watercolour.
