Blue chair in the shade. To set up another composition for a lockdown watercolour at my home I placed this old chair under the nectarine tree in my finca. I liked the contrast of the light and shade. The hens, always appreciative of human company, came to see what I was doing and posed obligingly.
Para establecer otra composición para una acuarela de confinamiento en mi casa, coloqué esta vieja silla debajo del árbol de nectarina en mi finca. Me gustó el contraste de la luz y la sombra. Las gallinas, siempre agradecidas de la compañía humana, vinieron a ver lo que estaba haciendo y posaron.
Born in Chelmsford, England. I grew up in Falmouth but lived and worked as an artist in Truro from 1970 until I moved to Spain. I have been painting since I was 2 years old but I also have a love of nature, my animals, classical music and dance. In 2002 I moved to Spain and now live in a cortijo near Alhabia, Almeria, Southern Spain. The scenery around my home provides endless, beautiful subjects for landscape and seascape painting and I get inspiration from the dramatic landscapes of Andalucia and the old cities, towns and villages which I usually paint in watercolour.
