This is one of my favourite views to paint in Granada, Spain. The Calle Victoria leads up from the Rio Darro into the old Moorish quarter, the Albaicin. The beautiful old buildings in this street are a pleasure to draw and paint and the Alhambra Palace makes a stunning backdrop.

Born in Chelmsford, England. I grew up in Falmouth but lived and worked as an artist in Truro from 1970 until I moved to Spain. I have been painting since I was 2 years old but I also have a love of nature, my animals, classical music and dance. In 2002 I moved to Spain and now live in a cortijo near Alhabia, Almeria, Southern Spain. The scenery around my home provides endless, beautiful subjects for landscape and seascape painting and I get inspiration from the dramatic landscapes of Andalucia and the old cities, towns and villages which I usually paint in watercolour.
