This is a watercolour painting of one of the narrow, cobbled streets in the little mountain town of Ohanes near my home in La Alpujarra Almeriense. The lanes in the towns and villages here, with their old cottages, flowerpots, vines and always a cat, are a joy to paint.

Born in Chelmsford, England. I grew up in Falmouth but lived and worked as an artist in Truro from 1970 until I moved to Spain. I have been painting since I was 2 years old but I also have a love of nature, my animals, classical music and dance. In 2002 I moved to Spain and now live in a cortijo near Alhabia, Almeria, Southern Spain. The scenery around my home provides endless, beautiful subjects for landscape and seascape painting and I get inspiration from the dramatic landscapes of Andalucia and the old cities, towns and villages which I usually paint in watercolour.
