RINCON DE TERQUE
In my neighbouring village of Terque, in La Alpujarra Almeriense, Almeria, Adalucia, Spain is an old quarter with some beautiful houses known as casas monumentales which were built over 100 years ago when the area was prosperous because of the wealth from the vineyards, orange groves and mines. Here, at the end of a little cul de sac, is this charming corner with an open door to the garden of one of these lovely houses. A delightful subject to paint in watercolour and the old millstone makes a nice feature.

Born in Chelmsford, England. I grew up in Falmouth but lived and worked as an artist in Truro from 1970 until I moved to Spain. I have been painting since I was 2 years old but I also have a love of nature, my animals, classical music and dance. In 2002 I moved to Spain and now live in a cortijo near Alhabia, Almeria, Southern Spain. The scenery around my home provides endless, beautiful subjects for landscape and seascape painting and I get inspiration from the dramatic landscapes of Andalucia and the old cities, towns and villages which I usually paint in watercolour.
